This week we go back to the world of Shakespeare and late 16th century England to review one of the most award winning films of the past year.
Based on the book of the same name by Maggie O'Farrell and directed by Oscar winner Chloe Zhao, Hamnet follows the family life of Agnes Hathaway and her husband William Shakespeare as they cope with the tragic death of their young son Hamnet.
In this episode we talk about the films main themes of love, loss and grief whilst also discussing womanhood in Elizabethan England, nature and superstition and the messages behind Shakespeare's play Hamlet.
